The Kidling has taken a keen dislike for blueberries. Once her favorite fruit, she now specifically requests her yogurt sans those tasty little morsels of berry goodness. The Dada commented on the transformation, telling Alice, “You used to gobble blueberries down like candy!” Without missing a beat, The Kidling replied, “Now I don’t! Now I gobble candy down!”
And she’s right. Sigh.
Give her another year and she will probably be gobbling them back up, much to chagrin of the grocery budget. 🙂
So true. I should plan to pick gallons at the blueberry patch this year ($3 a pound!) so our budget doesn’t take a hit when the tide turns…
Mine are the same way. Oldest used to eat avocados like they were going out of style… Now they’re ‘gross’
What is that about, anyway? Does some little gremlin whisper bad words like, “antioxidant,” “omega-3,” or “vitamin” in their ears? Then they realize the deliciousness is actually good for them and deprive themselves out of spite?
