it’s opposable!

By now, you have probably figured out that my child is a damn genius. Yeah, yeah, I’m sure your kid is smart, too. Mine is just smarter. Sorry. Some things are inarguable.

Late last week, The Kidling inquired about her hand. This brilliant child o’ mine was curious about her digits, and asked “How come this one (points to her thumb) is different from all the other fingers?”

Evolution, baby. And you are the future.

    • Have you asked them to do something without their thumbs? That’s what I did with Alice the other day, and I think she got how important they are. Now, I don’t think that translated to her understanding the evolutionary significance of thumbs’ impact on modern humans’ industry relative to that of other creatures, but whatever. Good enough.
