guessing games

A few minutes ago, Alice ran into the office holding a small creation made of blocks. Two are of the same size and stacked directly on top of one another. The third is smaller and placed on top.

Alice: Mom! Guess what this is! It’s something you eat at birthdays!

The Mama: Birthday cake?!

Alice: (looks at me as though I am the biggest moron she has ever encountered) No. It’s just a little petit four!

When will I ever learn that nothing is as it seems with The Kidling?

  1. Hahaha!

2 year-old Eli just celebrated his birthday with “burfday cakes”. It was his first taste of real cake (Okay. It was almost real. It was made with whole-wheat flour and beet puree…Don’t tell him though ;)) Every morning, I ask what he wants for breakfast, he replies, “Da burfday cakes, mama. Of course.” πŸ™‚

    • Beet puree! Was it gorgeously pink, too? Have you posted the recipe, by any chance? I would love to try it, especially once my beets are ready. I have never had them in my garden before… cross you fingers!

I think Eli should have burfday cake every morning. That is just my opinion, but with whole wheat and beets, you cannot go wrong.

whaddaya have to say for yourself?
