not s’posed to say it

This is absolutely typical behavior around taboo words and phrases, but I couldn’t help but get a kick out of it. Thursday night, Alice was talking about things she is, in her words, “not s’posed to say.” Imagine keeping a straight face while listening to this:

“I’m not s’posed to say ‘what of the heck.’ My teachers don’t like when my friends say ‘what of the heck.’ I got one strike and Oscar got one strike for saying ‘what of the heck.’ I’m not s’posed to say ‘good lord’ or ‘what of the heck.’ “

Did you, just maybe, notice how many times she said “what of the heck” while describing its prohibition? Umm hmm. She’s a slippery little one, isn’t she?
