clean shoes

When Alice was two, we had two dogs and a small fenced back yard. Every now and then, she stepped in a mess that hadn’t yet been cleaned up. Gross, I know. Super gross.

Well, she learned to check her shoes to ensure they were clean. One day we were at a party when she picked up another kid’s shoes and yelled—loudly—”No dog poop!” Nice. And not at all embarassing.
